The high ridges of the Willamette National Forest dominate this section of the Oregon Cascades, where steep drainages flow toward the N Santiam River. The landscape is defined by its dramatic volcanic peaks, including the prominent Three Pyramids and Coffin Mtn, the latter of which features the Coffin Lookout perched near its summit. A network of alpine lakes is scattered throughout the terrain, from the sequestered Parish Lake and Daly Lake to Riggs Lake and Don Lake further west.
