1968 Map of Coloma

USGS Topo · Published 1971

About this map

Coloma and the nearby settlement of Coloma Corners serve as the primary hubs in this central Wisconsin landscape during the late 1960s. The area is characterized by an orderly grid of agricultural roads, such as Bighorn Avenue and Cottonville Avenue, that delineate the boundary between Adams and Waushara Counties. This survey preserves the locations of several rural burial grounds, including Pleasant Hill Cem and White Cem, which remain as markers of the community's genealogy. The Old Railroad Grade indicates a legacy of rail transport that once connected these rural townships. Significant natural and utility features are also present, from the Greenwood State Wildlife Refuge on the eastern edge to the Coloma Municipal Landing Field and localized Gravel Pits that supported the township's development.
