Tatitlek and the settlement of Ellamar anchor this coastal survey along the northeastern reaches of Prince William Sound. The landscape is defined by the complex shoreline of the Tatitlek Narrows and Virgin Bay, where the coastal mountains meet the sea at the foot of Ellamar Mtn. This area within the Chugach National Forest reveals a traditional maritime economy dependent on the deep waters of Valdez Arm and The Narrows.
