Covert serves as the central hub of this agricultural landscape in Osborne County, situated where the local road network of Co RD 671 and W 195th DR converges. The terrain is defined by the winding drainage of Kill Cr and Covert Cr, which carve through the plains to create the distinct breaks and ridges characteristic of this part of Kansas. One of the few named topographic landmarks, Sand Mound, rises in the southeastern section of the quadrangle.
