Coyote Mountain and the surrounding high country of the southern Cascades define this landscape at the boundary of Lewis and Cowlitz Counties. The presence of the Long-Bell Mill Pond and Camp Nine Rd points to the area's legacy of industrial timber management, while the northern extent includes the lowlands of Swofford Valley and Swofford Pond. This terrain is deeply etched by a network of drainages including Winston Cr, S Fork Winston Cr, and Devils Cr that flow through the timberlands. Elevations climb steeply toward peaks like Green Mtn and the curiously named Crazy Man Mtn, while the southernmost portion of the sheet is marked by the course of the Green River. The map provides a detailed look at the logging road networks that crisscross the ridges, including Beehive Rd and Green Mountain Rd.
