Coyote Peak rises as a prominent landmark in this desert landscape, overlooking the wide expanse of the Ranegras Plain. This 2014 survey documents a rugged section of the Arizona desert near the boundary between La Paz and Yuma counties. The topography is defined by the northern reaches of the Little Horn Mountains, where structural geological features such as the Royal Arch and Natural Arch are identified. Human activity is largely confined to desert transit routes, including Hovatter Rd and Vicksburg Rd, which cut through the arid terrain. The drainage of Cementosa Wash winds through the southern foothills, while the presence of Sheep Tank Mine Rd points to the historical and ongoing importance of mineral exploration in this remote corridor of the American Southwest.
