Crater Lake National Park occupies the eastern half of this survey, dominated by the dramatic geological features of the caldera's western rim. The landscape is defined by massive volcanic formations such as Llao Rock, Merriam Point, and The Watchman, which tower over the deep waters of Crater Lake. The iconic Wizard Island sits prominently within the lake, showcasing its own volcanic vent, Witches Cauldron.

Human activity is concentrated at the southern end of the rim within Rim Village, where the historic Crater Lake Lodge and Crater Lake Post Office serve as the primary hubs for visitors and park administration. Beyond the Rim of the Crater, the western slopes are carved by numerous drainages, including the headwaters of Castle Creek and Copeland Creek. This 2011 survey captures the area's modern infrastructure, including the winding path of Rim Dr and the network of access roads leading toward Whitehorse Bluff and the Summit Cascade Divide.
