Creede and its northern counterpart North Creede sit deep in the San Juan Mountains, where the drainage of W Willow Cr and E Willow Cr meets the broader valley of the Rio Grande. This 2016 survey shows a landscape shaped by both its mining heritage and its modern civic identity, featuring the Upper Homestake Tailings Pond and Lower Homestake Tailings Pond alongside the Mineral County Memorial Airport. To the north, Bulldog Mtn and Monon Hill overlook the narrow canyon floor, while the massive profile of Snowshoe Mtn dominates the southern terrain. Extensive trail systems, including the Miner's Creek Trail and Wason Trail, trace the high ridges and gulches that once supported the silver mining boom. The map also documents important local landmarks like the Creede Cem and the Sevenmile Bridge crossing near the western boundary of the Rio Grande National Forest.
