About this map

Greyfield sits near the southern end of this coastal landscape, which was compiled by the Army Map Service using aerial photography from 1942. The barrier island terrain is defined by a series of wharves that provided vital maritime access to the interior estates, including Cumberland Wharf, Plum Orchard Wharf, and Dungeness Wharf. These landing points connected the isolated settlements to the Cumberland River and Brickhill River systems.
