Ashley National Forest and the rugged northern reaches of the West Tavaputs Plateau dominate this landscape along the boundary of Duchesne and Carbon Counties. The region is defined by a dense network of drainage systems, most notably Nine Mile Creek and Antelope Creek, which have carved deep corridors such as Argyle Canyon and Ninemile Canyon into the high desert terrain.
