Cusino sits within a landscape defined by its intricate hydrology and timber access in the Upper Peninsula. The area is dominated by the sprawling Creighton Marsh and the winding course of the Creighton River, which drains much of the central and southern reaches of this township. This 2017 survey reveals a network of truck trails and county roads, such as Twin Lake Truck Trl and Wolf Lake Rd, providing access to numerous small water bodies including the Gemini Lakes and Worchester Lake. To the north, the terrain is dotted with several named lakes like Long Lake and Fawn Lake, while the eastern portion is anchored by Cusino Lake and Silver Lake. The presence of Stoner Cr and Marsh Creek highlights the low-lying, water-saturated nature of the region, characteristic of the transition between the Alger County and Schoolcraft County line.
