Lost Trail National Wildlife Refuge anchors the central landscape of this western Montana quadrangle, where the borders of Kootenai National Forest and Flathead National Forest converge. The topography is defined by the high ridges of the Cabinet Mountains and the broad corridor of Pleasant Valley. A complex network of drainage systems, including Pleasant Valley Creek, Elbow Creek, and Lefthand Creek, feeds into the basins of Dahl Lake and the northern tip of Little Bitterroot Lake.
