The tidal landscape of northern Beaufort County is defined by the complex convergence of the Coosaw River, Combahee River, and Wimbee Creek. This 2020 map documents a low-lying geography dominated by marsh-fringed islands such as Browns Island, Halfmoon Island, and Jack Island. Small coastal settlements like Dale, Lobeco, and Briars anchor the inland portions of the sheet, connected by a network of rural roads that frequently follow the topography of the many peninsulas, including Keans Neck.
