Death Valley National Park encompasses a landscape of extremes, where the Badwater Basin marks one of the lowest points in the region. The salt pan of the Devils Golf Course dominates the central valley floor, illustrating the geological remnants of ancient desiccated lakes. To the east, the Black Mountains and the Amargosa Range rise sharply from the basin, dissected by steep features like Corkscrew Canyon.
