Dongola and Ullin anchor the northern and southern reaches of this corridor through Union and Pulaski counties. The landscape transitions from the wooded uplands of the Shawnee National Forest in the west to the significant wetlands of the Cypress Creek National Wildlife Refuge in the east. Numerous small water bodies like Dongola Lake, Lence Pond, and Mowery Pond dot the terrain between Mill Cr and the Cache River. Local history is deeply embedded in the land through numerous small burial grounds, including American Legion Cem and the Mount Pisgah Cem near the landmark of Mount Pisgah. The map illustrates the contemporary road network, including Shake Rag Rd and Butterfield Rd, alongside the long-standing topographic features like Butter Ridge and Rattlesnake Hill.
