Mount Baker National Forest encompasses this high-elevation wilderness along the border of Skagit and Snohomish counties. The landscape is dominated by significant peaks such as Mt Buckindy, Downey Mtn, and Green Mtn, which serve as the primary landmarks for this roadless backcountry area. The drainage systems of Downey Creek and Sulphur Creek carve through the steep terrain, eventually feeding into the protected Skagit Wild and Scenic River.
