1963 Map of Dry Sheep Creek

USGS Topo · Published 1965

About this map

Agricultural development in western Nebraska is vividly defined by the intricate irrigation network sprawling across Roosevelt and Dutch Flats. Surveyed in the early 1960s, the landscape is segmented by numerous water channels including the Interstate Canal and a series of numbered laterals such as Lateral 12 Main and Main Lateral 14. These systems support a scattering of homesteads and small loading points along the Chicago Burlington and Quincy railroad line, which runs through the southern portion of the quadrangle.
