The Amargosa River cuts through the arid basin of the northern Mojave Desert in this 2015 survey of Inyo County. This landscape is defined by the sharp verticality of the Amargosa Range to the south and the prominent peak of Eagle Mtn further north. Much of the western terrain falls within the boundaries of Death Valley National Park, preserving a high-desert environment where natural drainage patterns and topographical contours are the primary features of the land.
