Eagles Nest and the surrounding Eagles Nest Canyon define the dramatic topography of this section of the Wyoming high plains. The landscape is marked by significant erosion features, including the sprawling Cottonwood Draw and Little Cottonwood Draw, which channel drainage toward the north. A critical geological and geographical boundary is found in the south, where the Goshen Hole Rim drops into the lower elevations of Goshen Hole.
