The Emigrant Trail and the Sublette Cutoff traverse this high desert landscape, marking the historic corridors used by westward travelers. During the late 1960s, this portion of the Eden Valley was defined by an extensive water management system designed to support settlement and agriculture in an arid environment. The Eden Reservoir serves as a central hub for this network, with the Little Sandy Feeder Canal and Eden Canal distributing water across the terrain.

Natural drainage is provided by Little Sandy Creek, Dry Sandy Creek, and Pacific Creek, which wind through a landscape dotted with numerous Borrow Pits. Distinctive landmarks such as Round Top, featuring a Radio Tower, and the Chambers Ditch illustrate the intersection of pioneer paths and modern infrastructure.
