Siskiyou National Forest dominates this section of the Southern Oregon Coast Range, where the drainage basin of the S Fork Coquille River carves through high ridges. The map shows the remote character of the Eden Valley area, a landscape defined more by its complex hydrology and vertical relief than by human settlement. Prominent heights like Eden Ridge, Table Rock, and Gobblers Knob overlook a dense network of mountain streams including Wooden Rock Cr and Clear Cr. A system of forest development roads, such as Nat For Dev Rd 240 and Nat For Dev Rd 150, provides the primary access into these timberlands. The border between Coos and Curry Counties is clearly delineated as it traverses the southern reach of the forest near Buck Point.
