Eden Hot Springs and the surrounding heights of Mt Eden anchor the southern portion of this landscape, where the terrain transitions toward the San Jacinto Valley. The area is defined by its dramatic relief, notably the deeply eroded gullies of The Badlands and the northern reach of the San Jacinto Mountains. These geological features shaped early settlement and transportation, forcing roads like San Timoteo Canyon Rd and the throughways at El Casco to follow the natural contours of San Timoteo Canyon.
