The Cerbat Mountains dominate the western half of this landscape, rising above the arid floor of the Mojave Desert. This territory is defined by its critical water sources, including Elements Spring, Cochenour Spring, and several named points in the Cherum group, such as Cherum Tank and Upper Cherum Spring. The transition from high ground to basin is marked by a series of dramatic drainages like Nodman Canyon and Elements Canyon, which lead toward the Hualapai Valley in the east.
