Wenatchee National Forest contains some of the state's most dramatic high-altitude terrain, where the granite spires of the Stuart Range dominate the landscape. This 2017 study captures the complex alpine hydrology of the Enchantment Basin, a series of tiered basins holding the Enchantment Lakes, including Leprechaun Lake, Sprite Lake, and Lake Viviane. The map reveals how water moves from these high tarns into the Snow Lakes and eventually toward the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery (LNFH) in the northeast corner. This area is characterized by steep elevation changes, with Dragontail Peak and Little Annapurna flanking the basin. To the south, the terrain transitions toward the Wenatchee Mountains, where Ingalls Creek serves as a primary drainage corridor. The county boundary between Chelan and Kittitas counties cuts through the southern peaks, following the ridgeline near Earl Peak.
