English Peak stands as the central landmark in this high-altitude section of the Klamath National Forest. The landscape is defined by an exceptional density of glacial lakes and subalpine basins, including Lake of the Island, Charmaine Lake, and the connected English Lake and Upper English Lake. Drainage is divided across steep drainages like Devils Canyon and Snowslide Gulch, which feed into major waterways such as the N-Fork Salmon River and Wooley Cr.
