The North Platte River carves through this portion of Carbon County, feeding into the expansive Seminoe Reservoir. The hydrology of this high-altitude landscape is characterized by seasonal drainage patterns, as seen in the aptly named Dry Ditch to the north and the rugged Dirtyman Draw further west. Topographically, the area is defined by sharp rises like Cedar Ridge and the secluded Ferris Lake situated on the eastern side of the reservoir. This 2017 survey reflects a largely undeveloped terrain dominated by the Bureau of Land Management’s Public Land Survey System grids, specifically crossing townships such as t23n r85w and t22n r84w, which highlight the vast open-range character of Wyoming's interior.
