1962 Map of Fey Lakes

USGS Topo · Published 1964

About this map

The borderlands between Montana and Alberta are defined by a high-desert landscape of intermittent drainages and alkaline waters in this 1962 survey. Much of the local economy is focused near the center of the sheet at the Oil and Gas Field surrounding Fey Lakes, where names like the A Fey Ranch and J Fey Ranch indicate long-established grazing lands. To the south, the terrain descends into The Deep Ground, an area of complex topography bisected by the Gold Butte Road leading toward the Sweetgrass Hills.
