2015 Map of Fifteenmile Valley

USGS Topo · Published 2015

About this map

Lucerne Valley and the Sunset Cove development sit at the edge of a high-desert landscape defined by stark geologic features and arid basins. The terrain transitions from the alluvial fans of the Granite Mountains down into the expansive Fifteenmile Valley, where the ephemeral Rabbit Lake and Deadman Dry Lake catch seasonal runoff. These dry lake beds are characteristic of the Mojave's interior drainage, serving as flat landmarks in an area punctuated by the Deadman Hills and the prominent Chimney Rock.
