Six Rivers National Forest encompasses this high-elevation landscape in the Salmon Mountains, where the headwaters of numerous creeks converge toward the Klamath River in the southeast. The terrain is defined by a series of distinct alpine basins, including Fish Lake, Bee Lake, and Blue Lake, alongside the more remote Divide Lake and Red Mountain Lake. These water bodies are connected by a system of primitive routes such as the Blue Creek Mountain Trl and Bluff Creek Trl, which navigate the steep ridgelines between summits like Bee Mtn and Onion Mtn.
