Forbidden Peak and the surrounding high-altitude ice fields define this corner of the Cascade Range within North Cascades National Park and the Ross Lake National Recreation Area. The landscape is a dense complex of named glaciers, including the Inspiration Glacier, Eldorado Glacier, and Boston Glacier, which feed into steep drainage systems like McAllister Cr and Thunder Cr. Unlike many lower-elevation quadrangles, this map is dominated by topographical extremes, tracing the sharp ridges of the Austera Towers and Tepeh Towers. The presence of Moraine Lake and Klawatti Lake at the base of these shifting ice masses illustrates the active glacial hydrology of the region. A single route, the Fisher Creek/Easy Pass, provides a point of entry into this vertical terrain, which remains largely untouched by road development or permanent settlement.
