Snoqualmie National Forest dominates this section of the Cascade Range, where the topography is defined by prominent divides and high-elevation meadows. The central Foundation Ridge and Divide Ridge serve as the primary hydrologic separators, directing runoff into a complex network of creeks including S Fork Cowiche Cr and N Fork Ahtanum Cr. These drainage patterns are punctuated by numerous high-country clearings such as Pickle Prairie Meadows and Sleepy Park Meadow, which historically served as vital landmarks for navigation and seasonal grazing.
