Arkansas River bends sharply through this region, shaping the borders of Perry, Faulkner, and Pulaski Counties. The river valley is punctuated by several prominent elevations, including Kenney Mtn, Easterwood Mtn, and Kryer Mtn, which overlook the fertile bottomlands near Lollie and Ledwidge. To the south, the massive expanse of Lake Maumelle dominates the landscape, while the northern reaches feature the confluence where Fourche La Fave River joins the main channel.
