Gabbs Mountain dominates the western horizon of this high-desert landscape in Nye County, Nevada, as it appeared in the early 21st century. The terrain is defined by an extensive drainage system, most notably the braided course of Finger Rock Wash and the branching paths of Petrified Wash. These ephemeral watercourses descend toward the Stewart Valley, where the isolated landmark of Finger Rock stands as a distinct topographical marker. A critical high point for local transit, Petrified Summit serves as a divide between the northern washes and the southern reaches of the quadrangle.
