The shoreline of Big Bay de Noc anchors this 2023 survey of Delta County, Michigan, where the northern waters of Lake Michigan meet a landscape heavily defined by the Hiawatha National Forest. Small settlements like Isabella and Garden Corners occupy the transition from the forested interior to the bay, connected by the local path of Co 25 RD. The area is a complex hydrologic network, with the Fishdam River and its various tributaries, including the Southwest Branch Fishdam River and the Little Fishdam River, draining southward into the bay.
