Gaston sits at the intersection of the Tualatin River and the Tualatin Valley Hwy, serving as a central hub for the small agricultural and timber communities of the north Willamette Valley. The landscape is defined by its water management and industrial history, from the wide Wapato Lake Bed in the east to the Stimson Millpond and Henry Hagg Lake in the north. The area transitions from the floor of Patton Valley up into the timbered slopes of Mt Richmond, where smaller waterways like Scoggins Cr and Sain Cr feed into larger reservoirs.
