The Sacramento River forms the eastern boundary of this agricultural landscape in Glenn County, where water management infrastructure dictates the layout of the valley. A complex network of irrigation arteries, including the Glenn-Colusa Canal, Provident Main Canal, and Quint Canal, cuts through a grid of rural roads, supporting the region's intensive farming operations. This water delivery system was critical to the development of the small agricultural centers dispersed throughout the sheet, including the settlements of Glenn, Bayliss, and Jacinto.
