Lake Michigan dominates the northern expanse of this Brown County landscape, where the shoreline is defined by prominent features like Point Sable and the distant Long Tail Point. Further offshore, the waters are marked by hazards and small islands such as Frying Pan Shoal and Grassy Island. The eastern shore of the bay shows a transition from the structured residential blocks of A and V Terrace Gardens near the city core to the more spread-out rural communities of Bay Settlement and Wequiock.
