Pinesdale and the western foothills of the Bitterroot River valley define the landscape in this detailed 2014 survey. The settlement patterns follow the transition from the high elevations of the Bitterroot National Forest down toward the fertile valley floor. Numerous family-named landmarks and historical burial sites, such as the Pinesdale Cem and Blodgett Cem, are clearly marked alongside the creek systems of Sheafman Cr and Blodgett Cr.
