Harts Lake and its smaller neighbor Little Lake anchor the landscape of south-central Pierce County, where the Nisqually River forms the southwestern boundary. This 2023 survey illustrates the interface between the sprawling Joint Base Lewis-McChord to the north and rural residential pockets such as Villas, Hagedorn, and Patten. The terrain is defined by a dense network of minor waterways including Lacamas Creek, Horn Creek, and Tanwax Creek, which feed into the larger river system.
