Hayti serves as the focal point of this Hamlin County survey, which documents the township and surrounding prairie landscapes. The town is situated just east of the expansive Lake Marsh, a significant hydrological feature that dominates the southwestern portion of the quadrangle. The terrain is characterized by the rolling glacial highlands of the Coteau des Prairies, also labeled here as The Coteaus, which significantly influenced the historical settlement patterns and agricultural development of the region.
