Glen Canyon National Recreation Area occupies the eastern and southern portions of this terrain, where high plateaus give way to deeply incised drainages. The landscape is defined by its dramatic verticality, from the towering Orange Cliffs to the winding depths of Horseshoe Canyon and Millard Canyon. This area of the Colorado Plateau serves as a corridor of natural landmarks, including a prominent Natural Arch near the junction of Spur Fork.
