Starr Valley sits as a central drainage basin in Elko County, where the Humboldt River and Marys River converge. This 2015 survey illustrates a landscape of high-desert ranching and mountain foothills, anchored by the Starr Valley Cemetery in the southwest. The terrain rises sharply to the east into the East Humboldt Range, much of which is protected within the Humboldt National Forest.
