Highland Springs and the surrounding peaks of the Mayacmas Mountains define this section of the Lake County and Mendocino County border. The landscape is characterized by a series of distinct valleys, including High Valley, Tyler Valley, and Donovan Valley, which provide relatively level ground amidst the prominent high points of Monument Peak and Cloverdale Peak. This area is a network of watercourses like Highland Cr and Adobe Cr, the latter of which feeds into the Adobe Reservoir.
