Lake Ontario shorelines and the established drainage of the Salmon Creek watershed define the landscape of this Monroe County coastal area. The village of Hilton serves as the central hub, surrounded by a network of smaller residential clusters including Collamer and Parma Center. Near the water, summer communities such as Wautoma Beach and Lighthouse Beach line the Lake Ontario State Pkwy, while further inland, the legacy of early settlers is preserved in numerous historic burial grounds like the Wright Family Pioneer Cem and Atchinson Family Pioneer Cem. Traces of the region's transportation history are evident in the naming of Old Hojack Rd, reflecting the path of the former Hojack Line railroad that once served these lakeside agricultural communities. The terrain transitions from the low-lying Wautoma Shoals and Bogus Point into a system of small creeks and wetlands that support the local ecology.
