The eastern coast of Hog Island and the surrounding waters of Lake Michigan define this mid-1980s provisional survey. Situated within St James Twp, the landmass is largely preserved as part of the Mackinaw State Forest, where the shoreline is punctuated by Fisherman Bay and Baltimore Bay. These features provide a clear view of the island's natural contours before later shifts in water levels or shoreline vegetation could alter the landscape.
