The Klamath Wild and Scenic River carves a deep valley through the heart of the Klamath National Forest, defining the geography of this northern California landscape. This 2021 survey documents the small settlements of Horse Creek and Oak Bar along the river's northern banks, connected by the high-elevation routes of Doggett Middle Rd and Doggett Tie. These outposts represent the enduring human presence in a territory dominated by the steep rises of Buckhorn Ridge and the Scott Bar Mountains.
