The Mennonite Brethern Cem serves as a significant local landmark in this prairie landscape along the Sheridan and Burleigh county line. This 2017 survey documents a region defined by its numerous glacial potholes and wetlands, including Horse Lake, Johns Lake, and Bunker Lake. The topography is largely shaped by these water bodies and the drainage patterns of the Mcclusky Canal, which cuts through the northern sections of the map near 3rd ST Se. A section of the North Country National Scenic Trail winds through the northwestern corner, following the terrain across the sections between 184th ST Ne and 3rd Ave Se. The grid of section lines and gravel roads, such as 471st Ave Ne and 249th ST Ne, illustrates the enduring structure of North Dakota's rural land management and agricultural layout in the early 21st century.
