Housetop Mountains dominate the central landscape of this western Texas terrain, captured by the U.S. Geological Survey at the end of the first decade of the 2000s. The topographic relief is defined by significant elevations such as Spencer Mountain in the north and the namesake peak at Housetop Mountain. These peaks are separated by notable drainage systems and depressions, including the aptly named Fin Del Mundo Canyon and the natural passage at Lemons Gap.
