Noatak National Preserve encompasses the central landscape of this remote Brooks Range quadrangle, where the watershed is defined by several drainage systems. The northern reaches are punctuated by the waters of Kikitaliorak Lake and Etivlik Lake, while the southern terrain rises toward the peak of Nukatpiat Mtn. This high-latitude environment is mapped at a time when the boundaries between the North Slope Borough and the Northwest Arctic Borough intersect across the mountain slopes.
