Noatak National Preserve encompasses the entirety of this Arctic landscape, where high-latitude drainage patterns are defined by two significant water systems. The Aniuk River meanders across the central portion of the quadrangle, flowing through a broad valley framed by the rising contours of the Brooks Range foothills. In the southern margin, the larger Noatak River cuts a distinct path through the terrain. The map's detailed topography reveals a complex network of seasonal drainages and glacial features characteristic of this protected wilderness. Surveyed in the early 21st century, the data illustrates a landscape largely devoid of human infrastructure, preserving the natural hydrological relationship between the Aniuk River and the greater Noatak watershed.
